Freewriting Workshops
What is Freewriting?
Writing without purpose or intent and allowing your mind flow to the pen or pencil without taking time on its journey to be judged, criticised or applauded - no worries about spelling or grammar, just writing.
Freewriting is a marvellous way to connect with inner creativity and calm - allowing the brain to relax and let the subconscious take over. It's a way of putting down on paper all the thoughts that niggle and clang in our heads, and regular freewriting will help you to connect with all your senses; to be more aware of our surroundings and to allow more creative thoughts to take centre stage.
Even people who say they're 'no good at writing', suddenly realise that it doesn't matter what or how they write - the very process of putting pen to paper is liberating. Problems that have been grinding away in the background appear on the paper without any thought, and from the free space the solutions often come flowing out too.
Freewriting workshops are designed to be non-challenging, and there is no requirement for high level writing skills. Spilling your inner thoughts onto paper, knowing that no-one else will read what you have written, is liberating and therapeutic. A freewriting workshop can simply be an entertaining way to spend a few hours freeing your mind of everyday thoughts and letting a little bit of creativity through.
You may find you gain some perspective on a problem that's been troubling you for some time, or you may suddenly realise there is a simple solution to a previously tiresome issue.
Half-day or evening workshops will encourage you to think more closely about your surroundings, and connect with all your senses. You will learn how to write your feelings down and consider more creative ways of describing your thoughts. All this should help you with communication in general and can be an outlet for minor anxieties.
The workshops take place in the Milton Keynes area, and you can either book to join an existing group, or gather a few friends together and have your own workshop at a time and place to suit you.
